I don't know if I completely believe in them, but when I come across the following, I always pause and think of the bad luck or whatever the consequences are:
Black Cats crossing your path, when I'm in a mood I've been known to stop in my tracks and take another path
Breaking mirrors, anytime i confront a broken mirror it sends chills down my spine
Splitting poles- when walking down a street with 1 or more people, I almost always have to make sure i pass the poll on the same side as everyone else
Hats on beds - mostly got this from Drugstore Cowboy, but it creeps me out
superstitous that i don't pay attention to
Walking under ladders - i'm 6'3 so its a pain in the butt to walk under one anyway
Seeing a bride before the wedding on the wedding day- i find it hard to believe that my marriage could be more doomed if I would've seen my soon to be bride before the ceremony on that dark January day

I don't really believe in superstitions although I notice that I rarely walk under ladders -- but that's because I'm afraid that something (like part of the building or a paint can or simply a big glob of paint) might fall on my head. Better safe than sorry.

I have only 1 - MAGPIES, you know:
One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told.
I don't believe in any other, not number 13, not black cats, nothing, as this is the only one which has ALWAYS come true, here are a few examples:
-My bf's mum was very ill in hospital, and I was on my way to visit, as I walked toward the hospital door, a magpie landed in front of me, then flew off. When I got to the hospital, my bf told me his mum had died 2 minutes before. Just about the exact time I had seen the magpie.
-I was on the way to the hospital for a scan when I was pregnant to find out the sex of the baby, and I saw 4 magpies - I thought nothing of it, but sure enough, later that day I found out he was a boy.
-I saw 5 magpies the day before me and my bf's anniversary - he gave me a silver watch.
-Most recently, the day before yesterday I saw 1 magpie when I was driving home - I found out later on that the flat me and my bf had our hearts set on buying had just gone up in price by 12,000 €.
There are many more times, but I still HATE seeing those lone magpies!

1) When you stay in the hotel, you should knock on the door before you enter.
2) Don't point your finger at dead body.
3) Never pick up shoes that throw by other people, even the shoes look nice.

i actually don't! I mean i spill salt... walk under ladders... open my umberellas indoors... step on cracks... seen TONS of black cats... but i'm FINE. I'm alive and well :-)
