A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of online courses which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

If you're looking for something simple to start with, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is narrated in a unique style where he uses an unusual word, defines it, then repeats it throughout the book. Otherwise there are many books that will help you expand your english vocabulary, just make sure you have a dictionary on hand while reading. Examples: Harry Potter (series) by J.K. Rowling, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickenson, The Hundred Secret Senses by Amy Tan, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

I think you should start reading some good English novels. Its not easy to "learn" the correct usage of English. It will be more interesting to make your vocabulary strong by reading novels and also it will be easy to remember.Buy some good novels like "Harry Potter" , "Lord of the rings" ,"Agatha Christie".These novels are also available in India and will be much easier to get.
