I have a software developed in Foxpro for DOS. I am facing problem in opening table, whenever I tried to open a table, a message appears "Not a Database File". Although I have deleted the CDX & IDX files. But it is not opening. Please help me. I have very important data in the table.

Please do not suggest any software / utility that needs license key or serial no. I need solution for which I have not to pay. Kindly help me.

You can open DBF files in excel. But there are strict editing rules (can tell you later). But to view it it will be fine. Also check the file size. NB if there are more than 65535 records Excel will truncate it. In that case you can create a linked table in Access. Cya

Dos file, ok
If your running window, you may be able to use notepad to open the file.

At the end of the file (if it is small enough) you may see the corrupted part.

Delete corrupted part, and save under new name.

May be able to use wordpad also save as a new text file nnnn.dbf

Worse come to worse, you may be able to cut and paste a new data base file.
