You can use skype, if the person you are calling has a computer. All you (both) have to do is download Skype, make sure you have a headset and microphone and you can call for as long as you want to, totally free. If one of you doesn't have a computer you can still use skype, it costs almost nothing to call from your computer to a 'normal' phone via skype.

obtain Skype! It takes like 5 min to get set up. I continuously get a sparkling connection and its super for chatting with international acquaintances. Comp to comp is loose and that i think of to call a telephone # its like $0.02 a min.

did you try gizmo project? they are voip based telecom provider similar to skype, they recently started offering free calls - check em
