Generally there is no test more accurate than a transvaginal ultrasound, but it depends very much on the skill of the person giving the ultrasound.

If you have had a miscarriage, your urine and blood may still contain pregnancy hormones. An incomplete miscarriage can lead to infection and threaten your future fertility.

You may want to have blood tests daily before a D&C or expulsion to measure the amount of pregnancy hormone in your blood. In a healthy pregnancy, the levels rise every day for the first 8 weeks before they level off. After a miscarriage, they start to fall, but it can be a full month before the levels are zero.

Here is what happened to me:

I missed my period and went to the doctor. The blood and urine tests were positive, but the internal exam showed nothing. My doctor assumed I had a tubal pregnancy and sent me to the hospital. For a week, I stayed in hospital having my hormones checked and daily pelvic ultrasounds. Every day, they would say there was nothing.

After a week, they said there was no hope and I should have an expulsion. We were in the middle of moving so I asked to wait until Monday. That weekend was hell. I had nightmares and screamed in the night.

But on Monday, they did one last ultrasound and said;

"But this is a normal pregnancy with a heartbeat!"

7 weeks, 3 days before they saw anything.

My situation was no normal, but it is what happened.

Good luck to you,

i'd like to have self assurance Kiari in this one. in case you haven't had bleeding then you definitely have not had a miscarriage. I had difficulty getting pregnant and changed into once going by using way of all kinds of assessments. I had one blood try that "shown" i did not ovulate. nicely, I must have thinking i changed into pregnant!! So absolutely everyone isn't getting ideal recognize-how excellent the following. Hpt's elements faux positives notwithstanding inclusive of your predicament i ought to assert get a second blood try or request an ultrasound to make certain positioning of the toddler. good fulfillment!!

I'm really sorry but if I were you I would trust the doctor. If you don't trust your doctor, get a second opinion. They usually aren't wrong about whether a person is pregnant or not.
