Haven't played in a while, but I think Risk! is one of the less boring games, and not just because it is a conquest game. It combines many upredictable combinations with simplicity, geography and strategy. Much of the same (not geography) might be said of Stratego.

I liked Trouble, which has a set of dice in a bubble and when you pushed down on it a spring would mix up the dice then you would have to move 5 little pegs around the board till you got home and then you won. I also liked playing Monopoly and Go For Broke, the second one is the opposite of Monopoly, instead of making money you try to lose it.

My favorite board game is called Scrabble.
2-4 players can play.
The object of the game is to create a word using as many of the tiles as possible, while also getting as many points per word as possible.
Once you have made a word, you draw more tiles, you must always replace the number of tiles you use, until all the tiles are gone.
The game is played as such:
First, each player draws one lettered & point valued tile, (all the tiles are upside down), and the player with the lowest valued tile gets to go first.
Each player then draws 6 more tiles, and, after the first player has made his word, the player on the right must use their tiles to build a word.
The catch is, you must include one letter from one of the previous words in making your word.
Play continues in this manner until one person uses up all their tiles.
That person then gets the combined point value of all his oppnents remaining tiles, and the person with the most points wins.

I liked to play go. The objective of the game is to control a larger territory than one's opponent by placing one's stones so they cannot be surrounded and captured by the opponent, but can surround and capture any stones the opponent plays inside one's own territory.

Scattegories...You roll a die with every letter on it to find out what letter you're using. You're given a list of categories. You have to write something that starts with that letter and fits the categories. My family likes to play and make silly answers. (My stepdad cheats *giggle*)
