My friend would hit his dog in the balls with a stick and get no reaction out of the dog. Do you think its painful to animals?

When a mare kicked our stallion in that region, he staggered around and had to be given pain killers for the shock, and she was wearing boots to protect him.... so it's a definite yes for horses!
