I would highly recommend getting a Google Mail account: gmail.com or mail.google.com. It offers a lot of features, a lot of e-mail space, superior spam protection, and one of the best webmail interfaces. It also includes POP3 and forwarding.

I would highly recommend you stay AWAY from hotmail at all costs. It is just plain bad, spam friendly, and is regarded by some places as an invalid e-mail when you register.

I really like Yahoo! I've tried msn hotmail (very disappointing), roadrunners service for e-mails (also sucks) and aol e-mail (which really, really sucks!) Stick with your Yahoo e-mail. It's user-friendly, and I love my free down loadable toolbar (it kicks butt!)

gmail, lets ya chat with the people on your contact list if they're logged in. And it can send/recieve large files. That works for me.
