It depends how you use your skills and knowledge, though I have to say that education is something nobody can take away from you. It is a personal treasure that one either uses or wastes.

In some cases you will make more in a lifetime if you take the money you would spend going to college, invest it in a safe investment and let it sit for 15 years or more and just get a normal job and work your way up with experience. It really depends on what you go to college for.

It is true that lots of cab drivers have master's degrees and I personally know some happy successful people that never attended college, however...
I still believe college is worth it for the educational and social value--and it certainly doesn't hurt in the job market.
Need a good reason?
COLLEGE IS FUN! about a million times more fun than high school.

Education is like a lot of things, It will improve your chances. Yes, there are examples to the contrary, but overall, it is worth it. Unless you know that you would rather do something that does not require a degree. But I've advised others to at least get a business degree. Since that knowledge can be used by just about anyone who needs to work.

College is worth it. Education opens up opportunities that wouldn't be there if you didn't have an education. It makes you view the world with an open mind and teaches you to ask questions about the world we live in. I know people who have master's degrees and are working low paying jobs. But they are happy that they did get there degree.

College is absolutely worth it. You don't go to college only because of the potential for jobs. You go because everyone needs to see the world from the wider perspective that education gives you. That will help you with those better jobs. Also, you make lifelong connections in college, which might help you along your path. You go to open your mind, which helps you to see all the possibilities for your future!
