if i have to get the police file will they give it to me?

Contact the records division of the police department who was in charge of the case. Ask them for a copy of the police report. (They may charge for this service and yes it's legal for them to do that).

Bear in mind there may be some parrts they are willing to give out and some parts they may not. But it's the best place to start.

I would think the police station in your town should have the files but im almost positive that they wont give u any info on the case especially if its an unsolved case. Try the library for clippings of newspapers. Do you know anyone who was around at the time the murder happened? If so u can always ask them what they know about it. Good Luck finding what your looking for and if its someone related to u, then im very sorry and i hope u get some closure to this.

No, probably not regarding the police file. Where did this happen? How was the person related to you? And why the sudden interest? Forty-three years takes it back to 1963.

Newspaper achieves - might be charged
