ask them to sit down and tell them that your friend has the problem, which actually is yours. see how they react. if they react is a positive way, tell them the truth after some time. if they react in a negative way, seek professional help. younsters usually find their guardian angel in their mums. ask your mum.
good luck.

Gotta be BLUNT with Parents - - - tell them "here's the deal" and if they want to give attitude then that is their problem - - - you or your friend should just get on with your life - - - having parents is greatly over rated - - - the more self reliant you are the better. Note despite what you may have heard - - - no shame being 'on drugs,' if it is cramping your lifestyle then maybe you should quit - - - and if the girlfriend is pregnant, greet the parents with a burst of enthhusiasm "guess what, you're gonna become grandparents!" Be open, be honest - - - and be strong - - - you can get along without them. Peace.

Do it right away! There is never a 'right time' for something like that.
Get their undivided attention for just a couple minutes. Ask them to have a seat, that you have something very important to say.
Then, just say it. Don't go on about it, just say it, and ask for their support in facing it.
They will either be very surprised at how mature you've become, or they will kill you - but only temporarily.
If they freak, then at least the problem is out in the open so you all can try to learn to deal with it.
You have to be brave. They will find out sooner or later. They would much rather hear it from you first, than from the neighbors. Don't put it off. Don't make it any worse.

The thing is that if your parents are the sort who would reject you or be ashamed of you over these sorts of things then there's not really any way to tell them and not experience those consequences. If a gay person's parents hate gay people then there's not going to be any way for that person to tell his parents without recieving scorn no matter how tactful he is.
You can only be who you are and try to make the best decisions that you can. How people react to you is something that no honest person has much control over.
