You said you NEED the money--if you have to work that much to cut into your social time it must be important. I know that fun, excitement, and happiness are important but sometimes they just gotta take a backseat to getting on with life. I myself just recently moved here. I don't have any friends outside of my work. I don't know where you work but, where I work I look forward to go in everyday to be with my coworkers because they are really fun to be with. It certainly isn't the job. I hate my job but my coworkers/friends there will never see me without a smile on face, a spring in my step or a song in my heart. This job is just a stepping stone but the ppl there aren't stepping stones to better friends. One of my coworkers is so damn fun to be around and is so eerily similar to me. Is it a waste? No. But don't get bogged into your job and make sure those other 12 hours make up for it. Maybe there is a reason for you to be there. Maybe your coworkers need you to be there for them to uplift them with your presence. BTW go to school and get a better job. If you are young things will get better and better. Just put this in your box of experiences

You sure are, I was in the same boat working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week at $17 an hour. Wasted 5 years of my life doing the same thing. Then I decided anough was enough you only get to live once and this 12 day thing was history. I searched the internet buying every online scam there ever was. They all failed badly. Then I found this little gem, If only I had found this 5 years ago. Today I still work but its neither hard or 12 hours a day and its online. If you want more info ill take you under my wind and show you the ropes. Send me an email at steve_norris52@hotmail.com

i think that their are alot of answers to your question. It depends on a lot of things. How old are you, How much money do you make, do you work everyday. My thoughts are that you can never waste your life away with a job. think of it this way. You have no social lije now so at lest your not out blowing that hard earned money every weekend. Save for the future and when something comes alog you will be very thankful that you worked so hard for what youv'e got

No way! Be +, always.
If u r young & working 12 hours a day, it's really gr8 of u.Bcoz, when u get older anyway u can't work for 12 hours a day.
"THERE IS A SPECIFIC TIME FOR EVRYTHING", & beleive me this is your time to WORK, WORK harder.
You may be getting such feelings maybe ur NOT ENJOYING your job. Take more interest in ur job & everything will be fine.
If people are demanding ur time more than u can allot to them, try to convince them by talking to them & giving most of the time u can guve to them, at the end of the day,
"It's the Quality NOT the Quantity , which matters....."
BEST OF LUCK......

i could never work that much unless it was only 3 days a week. i did 16 hr shifts once and loved it but i got 5 days off. life is more fun when you have time to enjoy the $$ you earn. do something that pays as much or more with less time, like hair.

Social work is not only the work. that you can do as a part time or week ends.
You should have some principle to earn money and spend money.
You need money for your own survival... your family... childrens.. that time no one is going to help you out...
So start earn money for yourself... spend less time for social work....less money too....
Be a happy life ...

What are you doing? Are you serving rich people fudge in a shopping mall or teaching young minds subjects for life? See what i mean. If you are living for you, then yes you may be wasting it.

For know it is. Because once you get the money you need either for school or whatever then you can change jobs for better pay and less hours. I hope this helps you.

if the money is good, and if you actually enjoy work, then it is not a waste.
If, however you hate going to work, or are not making very much money, then yes it is a waste
