When I was growing up, we called this issue, "Nature versus Nurture", meaning how much of who we are hails from our genes, and how much hails from our culture (the way we are raised, our social relationships, laws, religion, education, standard of living, etc.). We used to think it was about 50% -50%. Today, the medical experts think it's more like 80% genes and 20% environment. Wait until you see your own grandchildren some day. It's startling how much of who we are is genetic.

Your heritage is what you get from your parents and those of your culture. You can be adopted into a culture. Chinese Americans in California have a heritage of their elders from China. They also have many adaptations which their American born parents gained in this country.

background is that that's surpassed on the traditions and customs interior of a kin. Your buddy can call himself something he chooses, yet in basic terms because of the fact his call is Irish in beginning would not recommend that he ethnically Irish. how that's carried out it that the dominate ethnicity could be reported first so if his mom is German then,m in accordance to the politically perfect he's German American. You approach isn't how that's carried out the two, You background no longer a bloodline, as I even have reported, and maximum individuals have a mix of eu traditions and customs. while you at the instant are not first technology American born, your background is American in maximum situations because of the fact there are traditions from the two components that are introduced into each and each marriage. i'm a million/8 English and Italian Swiss, and the third technology of each of those lines. i became raised with in basic terms approximately no background that became Italian Swiss, because of the fact my super -Grandparents had to grow to be American's, like such numerous who got here to the U. S. ahead of the 1960's. the different 3/4 is English, Welsh, Scot, French, and local American. With that form of combination there is not any single ethnicity or background that exists in my kin.

CULTURE ,COUNTRY OF ORIGIN , ETHNITICITY ......RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION .ALL OF THESE AND MORE....
IT MAY BE A STRETCH TO PROVE THAT ENVIRONMENT IS HERITAGE.......
YOU AND I CAN BOTH BE FROM THE SAME ENVIRONMENT , CITY ,NEIGHBERHOOD ETC, BUT HAVE ENTIRELY DIFFERENT HERITAGES........
A GREAT EXAMPLE IS NEW YORK CITY..THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CULTURES AND LANGUAGES THERE YET IT CAN BE SAID THET THEY ARE FROM THE SAME ENVIRONMENT........
HERITAGE IS SOMETHING PARTICULAR ABOUT THE GROUP OR FAMILY OR PERSON......
A HOME CAN ALSO BE YOUR HERITAGE JUST AS A PARTICULAR BUSINESS OR TRADE TO THE PEOPLE WHO WORK AT EITHER ONE..........IF A MANS FATHER AND GRANDFATHER, UNCLES BROTHERS, NEIGHBORS, ETC. ARE ALL FIREMEN THEN IT COULD BE SAID THAT THAT PROFESSION WAS THE HERITAGE OF THAT GROUP........ HOPE THIS HELPS.......

Can not be your environment since heritage is defined as something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth.
