How do you guys think we pay for a military and other things vital to the country?

Honestly, it is because a couple of dishonest republicans have convinced thousands of people that taxes just pay for welfare...
It makes working people mad to think that their hard earned dollars are going to pay for lazy people's free ride... but it's not true...
This belief in not taxing the rich appropriately is called "Reaganomics" after Ronald Reagan... he tried to convince everyone that it was good for the rich to stay rich and not have to pay taxes because the money would eventually "trickle down" to the poorer working class...
The $ never trickled anywhere.
More and more of our quality of life is ruined by capitalist oil mongers who divert our tax dollars into their own pockets...
Case in point: Hurricane Katrina - All those no-bid contracts to rebuild the city through FEMA went straight to Haliburton which is basically another name for Cheney Inc.
If the locals in Louisiana don't even get some of that tax money to rebuild the city themselves, then the money stays with the rich white people and we end up having to give more charity...
Taxes are good if you use them for the people.... our government just lies about what they are doing with our tax money and people believe it because they don't pay attention.
The other thing they don't want you to notice is the billions and billions of dollars that go into our missles and wars... how much is spent on education and social betterment? The answer will shock you:

True but alot of politics are stealing also. I lived in Philadelphia most of my life always been a pay to play thing there with leaders being charged with crimes. Theres a 7% sales tax in PA. and high property taxes. Moved to Delaware no sales tax low property tax and leaders seem to be fair. It come down to who is spening your money.

Of course taxes are needed. What isn't needed is confiscatory taxes, like those we have/had under Democrat administrations. The top 1% of wage-earners pays 37% of all federal income taxes. Is that fair to you? The top 50% pays 96%. Is that fair?

How do you explain why the Federal government took in record revenue since the tax cuts?
Why does Federal revenue go down when taxes go up??????????????
Taxes are a tool used for control of the people.... why do the democrats want high taxes??????????
It should start to gel, come together, be a clear picture..... High taxes are a basic precept of communism.

the schools here are in ghetto condition with holes in the ceilings and dingy dirty walls, some bathrooms with plumbing that does not work. Teachers buy their own supplies out of their pocket. Maybe when the buildings cave in taxpayers will notice.
