Don't you think it's stupid how some black people call each other N I G G E R S and when someone of another race says it they are called a racist?

Thanks everyone for answering. But still even though they probably say it a different way.. it still came from the word N I G G E R

Yes it is a Deming word. The original dictionary word. Consider the word to mean those (whomever) where low (life low life).
No one should use the word.
AND what I don't understand is why the word can be used in a certain culture, but if others use the same word it is a NO NO.
It is a NO NO no matter the culture.

I could not agree more and frankly don't understand why a black person would want to be called one by ANYONE including someone who SHOULD be respecting him more than anyone else. If a white person called me a honkey or cracker I'd ask him to stop. but what I really wanna know is why don't the blacks have a name for whites that is as much of a cuss word as the n word is for blacks?

No I don't.....and regardless to it's negativity and how we supposedly try to use it as an expression of love/respect/or whatever, it's still not cool for a white person or any other race to use it........think about it......when it all boils down to it, we will still be nothin but a bunch of ****** to them......they use that word out of hate, not out of respect. And for those who think they got in good with us and feels that they can use it because they earned their way in???? Please!!!! Stop it! Get over it! It's still a hurtful word when others say it.....and it's not going to make it better for us to give them the power to say it like we do....

The derrogtatory connatation attached to any racist remark is usually a combination of WHO, WHY, WHERE, WHEN and HOW it is used. When blacks are calling each other *******, the who, why, where, when and how are obvious. When you cross racial lines...your perspectives change. I guess the terrible way early America handled their labor and immigrants is still lingering hundreds of years later.

i have never heard a white person call another white person a "cracker" but i live in the sticks , personally i believe if people are going to get up in arms about it and the only people who seem to be taking are the blunt of it are the "minority" at the time, then it should be something everybody takes the hit for .

I used to call my good friend 'my Honky'. 'Christian' used to be a derogatory term. The Romans used it make fun of them. They eventually began to use it for themselves and it's now what they call themselves. I'm not sure if this is similar or not. It might be.
