Yes it makes sense. Prenups are usually for wealthy people that want to protect what they worked hard for. There is always the chance that the person is just in it for the money. There is more to it I would think. I know I pay lots of money for car, home, and life insurance a year but I hope I never have to use it. Wasted money if you never do use it, but just what if? Same thing. Pre nups are about using your head and not just getting lost in your heart (which is what happens with a lot of people the they get screwed when the divorce comes around).

It's interesting to know how serious they are about the vow in sickness and in health. Would they stay and take care of you if you are diagnosed with 3/4rd stage cancer? Or would they leave you?

I went in to it (marriage) until death do us part--- and he broke all the rules.....so finally I didn't wait until death. I got out while I was still alive.

I think marriage vows are taken way too lightly.

It says that vows can be broken. People can get married for whatever reason they want. It's legal!

You had BETTER take it seriously, because life is full of twists and turns, and if you don't at least think you are going to try and take your vows seriously, then why bother at all!

A prenuptual is a financial agreement... Nothing more... In no way does it reflect on the vows of love..

Having a prenuptual is like buying health insurance, live insurance, or home owners insurance, you are simply insuring your finances in the event of the unforseen..

You've got a point...shows that there is some insecurity..
Alas, you can't make people marry each other for the right reasons...but you can always find a lawyer who will rewrite and define a law, so hey...why not.

Yes - i have never understood this either. You can't simultaneously work towards forever together and plan for a break up. The physics just don't work that way!
