I pray, talk to my husband and mother about it.

Wow, life is hard, and the decision we make today can follow us the rest of our lives. I get out a piece of paper, sometimes just in my head, sometimes for real, and list the pros and cons of the decison, I take friends, family, myself, money, everything I can think of into considersation. I take my time, walk away and come back to it. I consider the decision with the most pros, and make sure I have covered all my options. Then I pick a decision. And stand by it.
And yes, sometimes I will be wrong, I am dealing with a wrong decision right now. I can't see into the future, wish I could. And the next step is even harder, admitting you were wrong, and starting again.
The only thing we can do is be as prepared as we can for those wrong choices. I banked a little extra money to cover me just in case, and I am so glad I did.
Another way is to chose a back-up plan. Hopefully, you will never need it, but it is great to have one. It is a great confidence builder, to fail, and rise again from the ashes, but it can be a difficult process.
Can I help a little with your choice? Get as much education as you have time and money for. No one can ever take it from you, it is yours to keep. Get a really good basic, well rounded education while you make your decision what to do with your life. And do not discount actual work experience. Employers look for someone with a strong work ethic, it will be great if you have one.
Hope it goes well with you, making your life choices. And this is meant as humor: do not choose nursing as a career! LOL, tonight, that is my decision, chuck it, or stick with it.

Actually, write down a list of pros and cons for both options! Write down every seemingly stupid little thing I can think of. It helps to make one of the options look a little bigger to me.

My father says "I do first and think last", so I wish I could help.

What kind of decision are you trying to make?
