why is there rubbing alcohol where a baby can get it??

call the poison control center. If you don't know the number check on the bottle if you are still having trouble call 911. They will connect you with poison control. I have dealt with this many times as a 911 operator and most of the time the child will be OK but it is better to be safe than sorry. Also jsut so you know if you go to the ER not only will you have to wait a while they too are going to call the poison control center. If there is a need to go to the ER the poison control center will let you know.

Give the baby something sweet (juice is good, or milk if you don't have juice) and call poison control.

My older son swallowed some of that instant hand sanitizer (which is alcohol based) and we called poison control immediately. They said the only concern with that is that alcohol makes their blood sugar crash, so that's why you give them something sweet to counter act it.

I cant comprehend why would anyone ask such a STUPID question on here...common sense is to take the baby to the hospital and make sure its ok. I dont mean to be harsh but that was just plain stupid.

Of course you need to call the poisoning control hotline. Its on the yellow pages or call the operator and she will get you connected!
