A new countries that was recently created in E. Europe are two: Serbia, Montenegro. They are not actually new (they both have long history), they just seperated from each other.

Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Bosnia-??, Lithuania, Ukraine. But alot of these were part of the old USSR or broke up after the iron curtain came down.
