What does it mean to call someone their babe or baby in a relationship?

This is just my opinion but I think that you have to be in a certain part of your relationship to call that significant "someone" your baby or babe. It means that you really care about this person and you see your relationship going somewhere in the near future..That's just my opinion. Hope this helps?????

Babe is sort of a put down in a chauvanistic way. Baby, on the other hand, is an endearing term.

Typically, it is a term of endearment. Of course, if the person is being sarcastic when they speak to you (i.e. - "Listen, babe... I've said it several times. Is your head full of mush?) then it isn't so becoming. Otherwise, it's just a verbal form of affection.

It depends. If it's a parent, it's could be their little one or their youngest child even if they are 29 plus.
In a romantic relationship, it can just be a term of endearment. Sweet, innocent, loving, beautiful, etc.
I think it should be mutually agreed on by both parties if it is used.

It is just a loving term of endearment, like honey or sweetie. Be glad the name you or someone else chose is kind. Ha Ha

It depends on how you use it, but it's usually part of the same list as 'honey', 'sweetie', 'love' are part of, unless you are referring to an actual child. You can say it in a sensual, teasing, inticing way etc. - that models its meaning.

Both the words show ur passion for the other. its good to use t occasionally, or else it may become toooooooo frequent and lose its sweetness.

I find my self calling everyone that. Maybe because I was a bartender for so long .
