I am 33 and have been on it for a little 5 years and still going strong. I still suffer the moodiness when I am about 2 weeks from being do for my next shot and while I no longer get a period for the last 41/2 years I occasionally spot just before my shot is due. I would not recommend depo for a short term use 2-3 years I have known several women who have waited over a year after they have stopped taking it to get a period. Also depo is tied to irreversible bone loss.
