I was at school. I had an 8 am class (god awful time in the morning) and everybody was talking some crazyness about planes and new york and buildings and I was like "HUH??" and they're all "don't you watch the news?" and i was all "no, I barely get up in time to get here" So we talked about it in class, and then I skipped my next class to go watch the news in the big screen at the student union, where apparently 300 other people were cramming in a small room to do the same thing. crappy thing was that at the same time somebody parked their van under a bridge and left the back open and a box sitting right there so the school authorities thought it was a bomb and shut down the school and we all went home.
my story telling might sound rather flippant but this is the true account of how my day went 9/11/01

I was driving along Interstate 95 South, while in traffic due to construction in Philadelphia. I was on my way from work in Bensalem to home in southern Pennsylvania. I always had my CB radio on in my pickup and another driver had his mic up to the AM/FM radio and all I could make out was a plane crash, New York, and building. With my cellphone I dialed up my father at his home and who is usually reading the newspaper. I asked him to turn on the television to see if there is any news about such a thing and to call me back.
My Father is scared of very few things and in his voice, I could sense that something disturbed him. That was because a few minutes after we had hung up, the second plane had struck the WTC. When I arrived at his home, either the Pentagon was hit or the Heroes stopped Flight 93. I can remember feeling the same way when I was a very young boy during the Cuban missile crisis. And when the World Trade Center collapsed, I was absolutely stunned. Now I understand better how the nation felt during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I was at work, about 600 or so worked there but we only had a television in the break room, so there wasn't much work done that day. When I got home, my hubby and some friends went to go donate blood and were waiting in line until almost midnight. I used up two video tapes, taping the news all night.

the night before i had been out with some friends. We got home around 1 am and i couldn't sleep at all. My dad has heart problems and i had the worst feeling that something was wrong with him, or something was gonna happen so at 2:30 am i got in my car, filled up with gas (thank god) and drove the 3.5 hours home. When i got there everything was fine and i went to their house and fell asleep on the couch. I woke up and turned on tv like 2 minutes after the first plane crashed. I called mom about it and she turned on radio. I went down to their restaurant and listened all about it and heard whenever the 2nd plane hit. I'll never in a million years forget that day. NEVER. I'll never forget the looks on peoples faces when they heard that.

I remember I was going to the post office to send a package over and the lady at the counter said "it wont go out today any time soon" and I just thought how rude can you be, she looked bitter and mean and I got all defensive and started to get a bit mad saying that I will pay for overnight and then she turned pointed to the TV and said look at what just happened, nothing is going out today. I felt really awful. I went home and started looking at the news.

I'll never forget it. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was swakened out of a deep sleep by a message on my answering machine, from my uncle, in a panic, telling me what had just happened. At first, I thought I was dreaming, but I woke up and played the message again. I called my uncle and stayed on the phone for hours, watching the towers collapsing, and watching people plumitting to their death. It was horrible. Our nation will never be the same!

I was in my bed, sleeping. My brother ran in screaming wake up wake up an airplane crashed into the towers in NYC. I rolled over and told him it was to early for him to be smokeing dope and he flipped on my tv just as the 2nd plane was hitting tower 2 and I just couldn't belive it. I started crying as soon as the first tower fell and me and my brother along with my parents hugged so tight and prayed for the families and prayed a prayer to be thankful to God that we had eachother.

i was in bed, sleeping...my mom called me on the phone and told me to wake up because 'the world is falling apart.' she told me to turn on the tv, and i asked what channel...she said it didn't matter...and it didn't. it was on every channel. i saw the second plane hit...i've never felt so helpless and overwhelmed in my life. that was a surreal day. it's weird how it takes something so tragic to make you realize how good we have it in America. flags were everywhere, and i remember stores selling out of them. i was glued to the talking heads of 24/7 news channels for the next month...it really did become this...addiction, i guess. fox news, cnn, msnbc, all of them...all the time.
