My brother broke his leg in 2 places and the kneecap is gone. He will be laid up around 5-6 mths. He's divorced, construction worker, with 2 children who he has joint constudy. He needs help with his everyday living expenses, rent, utilities, etc. He lives in peoria, Il.I was looking to see if I could find him some assistance. He doesn't own anything, just rents.

Call the County and ask for Disability program. Another possibility is Worker Compensation if your State has it. Welfare or general assistance. Union. If he is a Veteran, go to or call the nearest Veterans Affairs Administration or clinic.

Contact the local office of your Federal Assembly person who is running for election right now. Their job is the help you. Call other political types, Senators, Governor and so on.
If you are having problems go to the post office and ask for assistance.

Social Security Disability may be able to help. Caution this will reduce what he get when he retires. His children will also get money from him until they are 18. He may or may not be eligible for SSI. Contact the nearest social security office. Also, he may also be eligible for aid for dependent children. Check the welfare office in his county SSD and SSI can take a long time to get. The welfare office should be faster.
