...But you've already got the answer... Just write it down -
Length is X + 30, width is X.
Perimeter is the distance around it (2xleng + 2xwidth) and area is the area (Leng x width)....

width is x
length is x+30

area = L * W
area = (x+30) * x
area = x^2 + 30x

perimeter = 2*L + 2*W
perimeter=2 * (x+30) + 2*x
perimeter= 2*x + 60 + 2*x
perimter= 4x + 60

width = x , length = x + 30
Perimeter = width + lenght, thus
P = x + x + 30
P = 2x + 30
Area = width * length, thus
A = x(x + 30)
A = x^2 + 30x

Why is it a calculus question?

A=x*(x+30)
P= 2x +2(x+30)

But I know nothing about sums.

width(W)=x
lenght(L)=x+30
P=2(W+L)
=2(x+x+30)
=2(2x+30)
=4x+60
A=W*L
= x*(x+30)
= x^2+30x
