Does anyone know if you're supposed to rinse your face after using the exfoliator, or do you just leave it on your face? ...Also, can you put the moisurizer on right after using the exfoliater? Someone help!

You wash your face, then apply the toner/exfoliater and moisturizer. Might be better to let the toner dry a few seconds before applying the moisturizer. I wouldn't recommend this system anyway.

Clinique has got some great new products but the stuff in the 3 step system is awful...the toner is full of alcohol which is no good for your skin, and the Dramatically Different lotion is dramatically old and outdated.

If you like their products, try the Mild Liquid Facial Soap, Mild Clarifying Lotion, and Superdefense or Moisture Surge moisturizer.

Rinse off the exfoliater, then moisturize. I'm not too keen on Clinique's skincare. It tends to be harsh and way too many steps. Yes, they call it 3-step, but if you wear makeup you need to remove it with a makeup remover first, THEN wash with the soap. Got oily skin or dry skin? Use the Dramatically Different Lotion (or gel) then use ANOTHER moisturizer made for your skin type. (this is true- I used to do work for them) Don't even get me started on the repair items! Yes, it's owned by Estee Lauder(so are Bobby Brown, MAC, Stila, Prescriptives, Origins, American Beauty, Jane...) but Clinique was developed out of E.L. for a specific market- not bought. Any of the other companies (even Estee Lauder) have much simpler routines and they all have products for different types of skin. Clinique is supposed to be a lower price line, but it's not if you consider all the steps the skincare requires. By the time you pay more for fewer steps, you will find the cost comparable and you'll be getting, I think, better results in less time.

I think you should rinse your face because exfoliators can be pretty harse. The lady on the counter did the treatment on me and the next day, my whole face was covered in rashes! so be careful! I never had sensitive skin, and I tried the 3 step, level 2 product the friday before last, and I had a very bad experience with the skin irritation. even now, 2 weeks later, my skin is still recovering! the rashes have gone away, but its peeling like crazy, i cant rub anything on it (like foundation or powder) now i have all these dead skin patches on my face, which i have to wait to flake off. anyway, if you do get irritation, apply hydrocortisone 2x per day. For now, minimize exposure to the exfoliant and rinse and apply moisturizer asap.

It goes soap, rinse, exfoliate, leave it on, moisturize. There are better systems out there- like lab series, but everything is owned by Estee Lauder, the woman was a billionaire!

Typically after exfoliating you would rinse your face, use a toner, then moisturize.

Wash, pat dry, exfoliate, let dry for about a minute, then put on moisturizer---BTW how do you like the clinique 3-step, what's your skin type and how do you like it?
