that people terribly, terribly misspell words in their questions?? Man, I think we all ought to get five extra points every time we ask or answer a question and what we've written is properly spelled/typed and reasonably easy to understand. Who's with me?

Puh! You would maul grammar like that, good sir, with your superflous extra question marks, and chide others on how they type? Fie! For shame!

In that case, you'd have to make a whole new category for me!

My mom is a horrible speller, my beloved is Russian-born and can't spell in any language, and I did adult literacy tutoring. My mom and my beloved are extremely intelligent, and so were many of my students. I'm therefore really tolerant about spelling, even though mine's pretty good. I care more about the concept they're trying to express.

I am with you!

I cringe so many times when I read people's questions and replies. The English and grammar on Yahoo! Answers is terribly disgusting! I think that people are just too lazy to care! The rest of us should be given some just compensation for proper spelling and our excellent grammar.

I'm a fairly decent speller, but some people just don't get it - like I don't get math. Some words can't be corrected with spell check. I don't really care how a person spells, as long as I get what they're talking about.

I agree. Sometimes I think the question would be a good one to answer, but then when I click on it, I can't understand the rest of it.

you are right that spelling and grammar must be considered in answering and asking questions but i guess for some people this is not among their priorities....not bad if you suggest that to the team :)

That's why there's spell check but people are too lazy to click on it

Yes! Absolutely! Glad to see there are people who still think grammar/spelling, etc. are important.

Please realize that there are many people in this world who have learning disabilities and struggle to compose their questions and answers. Be grateful for your abilities and more aware of and accommodating of people who have disabilities.
