VERIZON. I have friends that everything from T-Mobile & Sprint to Cingular and Nextel. I have had Verizon for 3 years and I always get a signal, without fail. San Jose, Pleasanton, Oakland, the City, Jack London Square..you name it. After many years of observation of cell sevice in the Bay Area, it is Verizon that has the best signal. Good luck.

Second vote for Verizon. There is however a spot on 17th Street entering Cole Valley that I could never get reception in (2-3 block radius).

Nextel has numerous areas in SF with black out pockets.
