No way. He had some charges pending in Thailand and knows that he would fare better in the U.S. Justice system and prisons than in the Thai system. He got a free ride home, got out of Thailand and I'll bet he will not be convicted ot the computer porn charges in California because of statue of limitations and evidence missing or being to old and comprimised. I think he is very brilliant and so far has beat the system.

Apparently obsession with Jonbenet is common condition. It seems to afflict many people---they just can't seem to get enough. I'm hopeful that someday researchers will find a cure. It won't be soon enough for me because I so f'en sick of hearing about jbr.

Well, being that few of us are shrinks, we can only speculate.
One of the reasons, I believe, is because he was under charges of misconduct with children in Thailand. If he had gone to prison there, he would never be heard from again. He would be in a livng hell on earth.
So, knowing he would get better treatment in the United States, he had to find a way to get out of Thailand.
He preoccupation/obsession with the 6-year-old child in Colorado was his way out. And he knew that.

The best theory I have heard is that he wanted to be extradited to the US because he was accused of touching children in Thailand. The penalty in Thailand for child molestation is death. So if he could get to the US, he'd have a better chance of escaping and going into hiding (like he did after he was accused in California).

I agree with Maryam B. He was probably facing some charges in Thailand that would get him killed. So why not get a free ride back to America where he will spend 2 years in jail for his misdeameanor child porn activities (what is that anyway!!! MISDEAMEANOR child porn charges?!?!) before he is released to pray upon more of our children

I guess he knew that was a way to get back to the US and not have to worry about spending any more time in a Thai jail, where they SHOULD have killed his useless self.
