yes it's way pathetic and desperate if they force you to be their girlfriend. they're not worth talking to. but for one of my best friends that kind of thing (online relationship) worked. of course the guy didn't force her into anything; they met in person one time and everything just fell into place. after two years, they're now married and living happily.

Maybe if you can find someone who's not a total weirdo. I've met some nice guys online but I stick to chatting online. I've never met one in person. Some of them can be really creepy.

lLets get something straight first and foremost. No one can make you do anything you don't want to do. If you don't want to go out with these guys, just tell them. What are they going to to, stalk you over the internet? Secondly, internet relationships never work out. If you don't see the person, and spend quality time with them, how can you build a foundation on instant messages. It just doesn't work.

You know I met this beautiful lady on Yahoo about five years ago. We got really close, IM'ed every day for hours. She even called me. We also sent each other songs.
One day she just never came back. I still don't know why or if something happened to her. She once told me that if anything did happen to her that one of her kids would get a hold of me. So..........?
I think about her alot.
I don't think I ever want to do that anymore though.

i think that they can yeah. I mean, yeah there are a lot of whackos on here, but there are normal people too. Just like anywhere else. I have a friend who met a guy on here and they are married now and perfect for each other.

It depends I guess on the circumstances and getting to really know someone and setting up a meeting. Most of the time probably not.

of course, as long as both are honest and willing to adjust to suit their needs. i won't call it pathetic or desperate, i will call it adventure of a lifetime, i guess im lucky to have met such wonderful man..it is rough in the beginning but we manage through rough road and still rock solid even now...

personal experience though, i've married my husband that i met through correspondence. then our daughter follow the footstep, she is married now, met her husband through on line....

My sister maried a man in Australia that she had met on the internet. And she is very happy! But if they are just lame then they are not worth your time.
