Acrobat is slow on many printers. Even in my college computer labs, something printed from this program can take a really long time to print.

I have an HP and understand your frustration. I finally just killed most of the HP tools that get loaded when you install your printer. the driver is all you really need and that can be had at HP's site under software and drivers. get the smallest download they have. You dont really need to be told when your ink is low do you? I mean its kinda obvious when the color starts to fade. You might also try printing in draft mode when its something that isnt going out to other people that is alot faster

Some factors that affect print time:

The size of the file
The type of network connection with which you are working
The speed of the computer on which you are working
The type and memory of the printer you are using

No - change your printer settings - if it spools before printing it may take more time to print

When you hit "print" and the printer settings pop up, go to settings and set the quality to draft.

that will make a HUGE difference.
