You should go to a website that helps interpret last names. I know of one but I forgot the name of it.

Alambar does sound Arabic but I'm not going to say it is. Plus, you shouldn't give your last name over the Internet.

Pertains to the Arabic word AMBAR which is Amber, a fossilized resin usually used to make jewelery. It is probably Spanish from Moorish descendants originally from North Africa.

Personal note: It's a nice last name.
