I tried it and I've heard from other people too. I think it's a control thing. They get you so relaxed and then they put "messages" in your mind to you won't do the behavior anymore. It's total bogus. I resisted their leading me down hundreds of staircases in my visualization and the lady got pissed. No one is controlling my mind without my persmission. Anyways the other people were clients I worked with at a recovery/detox program in Hollywood, CA. The clients would tell me about their hypnotherapy session and I would be amazed how much more fucked up these people were getting after the hypnotherapy sessions. I felt like the hypnotherapist was really messing them up evern more. Anyways, my advice is to try to have control over your own mind that will be the day you own your own power and will be empowered that you can acomplish anything from weigh loss to stop smoking. Don't give someone else your power and control. If you carefully read what the other people wrote about their experience of hypnotherapy. They all said it worked but then they went back to it because they left therapy. So it was really the therapist controlling your behavior instead of owning the responsibility yourself. Sorry to be lengthy but I like to inspire and empower people not control and make them believe they have no inner strength. You can use your mind to control anything you want.

Actually, yes. I had insomnia when I was 13 years old. I didn't sleep but for an hour or so a night for about 2 weeks! My mom and dad were livid, didn't know what to do, cuz I was taking sleeping pills etc and still couldn't sleep. So they had me go to a hypnotherapist. Believe it or not, it worked! I didn't even realise what had happened! I just remember him telling me to count backwards and then I woke up. It was weird, but I slept like a baby after that. So it did work. I have never done it since, (although I still suffer from insomnia from time to time) It just is not as serious as it was then. (or maybe I just don't take it as serious as my parents did!)

I've never tried hypnotherapy, but once I was casually talking to a hypnotherapist, and I think she was trying to hypnotize me! It was weird. I finally broke eye contact and I've never talked to her again (she knows my grandmother).

Yes, i tried it and it worked.
you see, i once had a problem with sucking on my socks before tossing them into the hamper. I heard your feet excrete certain vitamins and minerals that are unfortunately washed away on laundry day.
So, I went to a shrink.
After a few sessions, I was cured! Now i don't know what to do with my socks. All I wear now are boxers and combat boots. No socks.

My mother did and it worked for her for a few months. It takes a bit of believing that it works to work. It helped her to quit smoking. She just relaxed and went under and when she came out she didnt have the same cravings. She did however go back to smoking after five months because for one she stopped the therapy and secondly she didnt really want to quit. I think you have to truly want to change in order to quit anything.

Yes. Weight loss. Yes. But I understand for some people you would need continued visits to keep up the desired effect, and I am one of them. I didn't continue to go and the weight loss did not continue after a period of time.

I've been regressively hypnotized. That was to take me back to previous lives. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and learnt a lot about myself.
I went, initially, because I was having freaky thoughts ... and I do mean freaky.

i believe the power of the mind is amazing. if you tell yourself every day you can achieve what ever it is you want to do be it losing weight, stop smoking, anything.
tell yourself everyday i have lost 20 pounds or i don't smoke anymore even if you do, eventually you will just do it because your brain will tell you to.
sounds a bit crazy i know but it works, you've just got to believe it .
good luck. e mail me if you want to learn more, i'm not a proffesional but i have learned alot about the power of the mind.
