Oh my god, I am in the same situation as you and I have tried everything- I even asked this question myself on yahoo answers a few days ago. I think the truth is that nothing works until your baby is ready to come out, and people who say "I tried this and went into labour a few hours later", it's just coinsidence and nothing really works! I have been drinking 5 cups of raspberry leaf tea every day (more than the rda), sex every night, I went for a whole week eating a pineapple a day, I have walked until my feet were sore and I am also using my breast pump and expressing milk (which my midwife said is fine) to try and start things off but NOTHING IS WORKING! I refuse to try castor oil because if it gives me the squits like they say it does, I wouldnt want to be the midwife at the end of my bed at pushing time- hello pebbledash!! I am seeing my consultant tomorrow morning to get a date for induction, woohoo!
So, my advise is to just keep trying all the things that people are recommending and when your body feels that it is time something you do will be enough to push you over the edge. I really hope you have a better time than me trying you get your little bundle to arrive. Good luck with the birth and remain upright for as long as poss. xxx

The only REAL way to induce labor isn't an easy one. For hundreds of years doctors have been inducing labor through nipple stimulation. Massage your the mothers nipples for about an hour or so tree times a day... It helps the cervix to thin and can start contractions.

My brother's girlfriend got this tea from a friend of hers that was good for inducing labor, says so right on the box. She was like 5 days overdue. It was called raspberry leaf tea. She didn't believe it would work, but she drank it one night, and went into labor about 5 hours later.
You shouldn't have sex, most doctors tell you not to after a certain amount of time of being pregnant.

Please don't try to induce your own labor. When it is time your little one will come. You can put you and your baby's life at risk if you try to induce yourself. If you want to try to get your baby in position try walking atleast 30 minutes a day. Good luck! and don't do anything silly...believe me once your baby gets here you will be dreaming of the days when you were pregnant and you had down time...believe me I have a 3 week old...and boy do I miss sleep! Rest and try to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

walk walk walk walk walk and walk some more worked for me!
also you can try riding down a bumppy road back and forth a few times.
but i advize walk walk walk go shoping all day long and things will happen,
I walked for over 9 hours the night before my first son was born.
My cousin walked twice around her block and went into labor 30 min later.
It all depends on how much walking you've been doing all along. If your body is use to walking like mine was it will take more walking to get it done.

Other than walking and sex nothing else is safe...not even castor oil. NEVER take anything without talking to your doctor. Trying to induce yourself can put your, and your baby's life at risk.

castor oil is bullshit and dangerous,
nipple stimulation,
sperm,
sex,
a brisk walk,
or a laxative (castor oil makes you sick, throw up diahorea, and getting your bowels moving and all that help induce labour so safely take a laxative)
i did alot of reading on castor oil when i was searching the net on how to induce labour.

When you are full-term, I would suggest you ask your OB about this. However, I have heard that nipple stimulation, vaginal intercourse, and walking all help bring on labor. Good luck and be safe.

Unprotected sex. Sperm causes labor in the latest stages.
