Diploma is a short cut that any institute can offer. There is no need for affiliation. For Degree you need recognition of AICTE or UGC. So it is not everybody's ball.
If you meet some engineering diploma holder, ask them this question. They know the difference a 4 year BE degree and 3 year engg diploma makes.

Yes, yes. Get your diploma, which means that all of your classes are complete, and then STUDY diploma for the diploma test. And of course, when you get the diploma, that will be INSTEAD of (no definite article) degree.
Make your choice, folks. Do you want the diploma (to study)? Or degree? Is it (which it we don't know) use and then full, like a full tank?

it depends upon the individuals family,finencial situation. you will get a job easier than degree holder . bcz in any organisation if there are 3 engineers (degree holders having salary say 15,000)then at least there would be 9 diploma holders junior engineers 6000-7000)so diplomaholders are having more opportunity then degree holders. now if you are a responsible person in the family then you can not wait for long also you if you can not afford money for degree then it is better to go for diploma otherwise you should go for degree.

The diploma is a Cirtificate, in a manner of speaking saying you have graduate with adequate completion of your High School courses.
A degree, is only given by a College or University, preferably acredited by the State or Federal Government.

First of all we r live in India. In India v r seeing economy. we can save our money in 12th Std Tutuion class. cost. and In Diploma we r studying more practically compare to degree. in diploma standard we r studying little bit theory and maximum practical. to getting job practical is more IMP campare to theory. and diploma holder person has no shy to work in any type of situation he can handle any type of work by experience.

Why get either? kids today seem to be taught at school if you want to get anywhere in life or be respected you have to go to uni. That is why there is a massive skills shortage. I did a trade (diesel fitter) and i make alot more money than 95% of people i know and have a less stressful life also.

degree is boring(it takes three precious years of ur life)
diploma gives the same knowledge or may be job in in 1 or 1.5 years
