REAL-STORY, my best friend just realized her husband has filed for divorce, are there any legal ways, or other things, she heard you cant get divorced if you are pregnant, which she is and he knows this, but are there ways to stop a divorce from proceeding forward?

My friend thanks heartedly

The laws of each state are different, your friend needs to either contact an attorney or do some research in the local law library to find out the laws for her state...

More pointedly, why would your friend wish to remain married to someone who clearly does not wish to remain married to her?

Your friend would be more productive counter-filing including childsupport paperwork for the unborn child and moving on with her life and finding someone who truly wishes to be with her instead of holding onto someone who doesn't..

You can contest a divorce - that will slow it down or stop it (delay it for a bit) not totally stop it. But then there will be a long drawn out court process.

She is probably better off if she is pregnant, if he is still proceeding with the divorce then he is an *** and obviously doesn't want the responsibility of the child.

Many divorced pregnant women would disagree with you. And if your friend is considering using an innocent child to keep her husband from divorcing her, that is just selfish and wrong.

Your friend could have a discussion with her husband to see why he wants the divorce and if marriage counseling will help at all. I find it hard to believe that she doesn't know why he is divorcing her.

And if she's not responsible for the problems, then she should thank her lucky stars that she is getting a second chance for happiness with a man who will actually love her, unlike her soon to be ex husband.

She needs to see a lawyer.

Just because she is pregnant WILL NOT Stop a divorce from proceeding -- sorry about that.

The divorce can be CONTESTED (meaning argue about it) which will delay the processing, but it will proceed, although slower through the courts and be more expensive in the long run.

You did not do the ideal difficulty yet when he extremely cared like he ought to that should not be the first difficulty that comes out of his mouth. What has he been doing with his loose time faraway from you? If he does leave you paintings on getting your self mutually before you bypass on to some different person. If he remains nonetheless paintings on getting your self mutually. You deserve a lot more beneficial and stay faraway from the internet freaks. good success

Pregnant or not, if there are grounds, a divorce will be granted. At worst/best (depending on how you look at it), a divorce will be granted. It's just a matter of time.
