Does this annoy anyone else? I just hate seeing ads for the newest thrown together bad sequel they've come up with and would really like to see something of quality come from them again.

Unfortunately there is licensing of movies, idea, all that stuff. They really are running out of ideas. They may remake some of the old old classics like That Darn Cat or Swiss Family Robinson.......
As of December of last year I believe, after much discussion, Disney actually bought out Pixar. If you all remember, Pixar got OUT of their contract way back with Toy Story II, then back in, then out again. Finally, they were bought out and Disney now officially has rights to their product. They are under a lot of heat to come up with new ideas considering Dreamworks is not only coming out with fairly good animated movies, but originals. Making these stupid sequels is only buying them time to test the market out and see what people want before diving in and making an "new" flop.

Dunno, some of their best movies are original like Lilo & Stitch and The Lion King (loosely based on Hamlet). Disney is smart keeping their sequels straight-to-video though, they don't fill up the theaters and they can make a quick buck because people saw the 1st ones. But Disney recently announced they won't be doing as many live action movies as they have every year, and be doing more animation films. So we could be seeing more original stuff from them soon.

They have already made millions from those movies and since they keep all the rights ( as pioneers in that industry ), they are the only ones to get money every time after other from the classic movies, it's new versions and all it's characters and products.
You gotta remember that in modern society, kids watch the movies chosen by their parents and since those parents grow up with those classic Disney ones, what would you guess they will pick for their children... so their children will get familiar and in love with Mickey and Minnie as their parents did before and one day will feel safe putting the new editions for their kids as well...
This is a secure market environment for those companies and corporations who are consider pioneer in the entertainment industries...

Because the only quality movies coming out of Disney right now are actually made by Pixar. Disney owns Pixar right now, but Pixar has been trying to get out of its contract for years. Disney knows that up against them, they'd lose tons of money.
Anyway, it takes Pixar years to finish a movie, so with the recent release of Cars, it will be a few more years before another good one comes out.

It has nothing to do with the writers or not being creative. Its actually very smart. Why making something new and risk losing money. Why not just make a sequel of an already hit. Its money in the bag.

It is about the all mighty $. It is cheaper for them to make a sequel rather than spend millions making something new. It is very sad they do this. They have run the Disney name into the ground. Walt has to be rolling around in his grave.

I heard that back in the ninties, Disney fired all their animators here in the U.S. and decided to invest in crappy computer animation and when they did need animation, they went overseas for it. Also, Disney used to have wonderfully written and orchestrated songs in their movies, however, that has gone done the tubes, too. Disney wants a quick profit, they pump out cheap-o movies to make money on the toys...what else can we expect from a corporation?

Disney has a good movie out right now. It is called
Invincible. It starrs Mark Wahlberg as a guy from
Philadelphia in 1976, who tries out for the Eagles.

I saw this today and it was pretty good.

You're right. Every disney movie follows the same silly format. They are all designed with marketing in mind. Disney has become all about money.
