Okay, those bands are really crummy because they're really BIG. Now, I'm just gonna throw you a bunch of bands:
Escape the Fate
Paramore
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Desole
The Academy Is . . .
Meriwether
The Used
The Pink Spiders
Smashing Pumpkins
Yeah . . Mest was in that 'Punk Rock' classification, but they're Pop Rock if you're really experienced. Like SImple Plan. And Relient is a Christian Rock band. Shocking huh?
If you're into that 'Punk Rock' which is only Pop Rock:
Sum 41
Good Charlotte
. . . I'm not in touch with this type.
Okay, have fun!

If you want some good punk, look into Lucky Boys Confusion. They are great, with great songs, I have yet to hear a song of their's that I don't like. I think a while back they had a song on the radio called "Fred Astaire." That remains my favorite.
Also, try Goldfinger, specifically the songs "Superman" and "Walking In the Dark."
Also again, look up the band Mest. All songs great there too. One of my all-time favorite bands.
I noticed relient K on there, if you want some Christian punk, try Five Iron Frenzy "Every New Day" and "Fistfull of Sand." I'm not much for Christian music, but I love these guys.
If you want more, just ask, but that should keep you busy for a while.

OK, I dont want to sound like an old curmudgeon, but ...
If you want punk, go looking for the real stuff, look into the the bands that created punk and without who most of those on that list would not be around.
check out, please:
Dead Kennedys - Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death
Black Flag
Sex Pistols
not necessarily punk but with a SoCal feel : Suicidal Tendencies First Album
Early Red Hot Chili Peppers
New York Dolls
Ramones
(not my favorites at all but...) The Clash
Iggy Pop
X
Misfits (with Glen Danzig)

Ok... I agree with daughters_a_wookie... Not gonna judge your taste in music but if you're really looking for punk, check these out:
The Sex Pistols
The Damned
The Jam
The Ramones
The Clash
Generation X
X
The Velvet Underground
The Adicts
The Distillers
And they aren't punk, but they're punk inspired: The B52's
If you want modern, I can't give you any PUNK, but the Hives are pretty good. The Vines aren't BAD. And you might try the White Stripes because everyone likes them...
