Yes!
I have Firefox set up as my default browser. Since using it, I have much much less problems with my computer.
There are many advantages in using Firefox including being able to dump all cookies and temporary files when closing Firefox. You can also set Firefox to do automatic updates.
Firefox will not open a web page that has viruses embedded in it. Other good things too numerous to mention!
Try it, you will like it.

Yes you can not only have IE and Firefox, even you can install Netscape, and more other browsers, there is no issue how many and which you can install until unless, it supports the operating system you have, but you can make one as default browser to avoid the message pops - up, when any browser start..

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
