The main disadvantage to popularity in high school or anywhere else is that you spend so much time trying to live up to the image people think you are that you lose sight of who and what you really are...

Its something i have never really been concerned about being popular at school although i had lots of friends. no one has to be top dog. Having genuine friends is what matters. You can be popular but the main thing is having genuine friends, ones who are their when you have a problem and wont talk behind your back, or visit you when you are sick that is what really matters, not how popular you are.

Advantages and disadvantages of being successful.
We all want to succeed. Every one wants to be a winner. But what is success? Who is a winner? Does success mean being popular, consolidating power, enjoying prestige, maximizing happiness? Is the winner the one who commands huge audiences, gets his way, wins elections, emerges as a sports icon? Is it he who is a popular celebrity, rich and famous, adored by countless fans, pictured and interviewed all over the world, viewed as a super hero? Or is it he whose children are educated in the best of the educational institutions, excel in their careers? Being successful is a widely understood concept, not always good. So here I am about to talk about few advantages and disadvantages considering this matter.

One the one hand, being successful involves massess of money and affluent life which automatically leads to enjoying the pleasures and comforts beyond one’s imaginations and having every wish and desire fulfilled instantly without any problems. Consequently such a person just do not need to care about anything, everything is under his control.

In addiction, having a feeling of victories makes human ego raising extremely rapidly. People can not only attain leadership, but also adopt the profession of their choice. They really feel like heros who lead a country as well as overcome their adversaries. In fact mentally they become much stronger, prompted to act, as a result they show how with little effort make some dreams come true.

On the other hand, some people work so hard for their success, that they seldom have time for a family and entertainment. Being so involved in their worldly mission means they can not pay any attention to what happens arround them. No own life, just in pursuit of dreams which sometimes seem to be unable to reach.

Moreover, sometimes everything goes so fast that people cannot catch up with that all. Too much of work, stress, impossiblity to find a way out, which equal being totally frustrated and remorseful, but helpless and doomed failure. In reality they do not hold water, become weaker and weaker.

All in all, being successful may arouse mixed feeling, but still thousands of people aim at victories. Success is important and one can only hope that people will not lose and take full advantage of its benefits.

yes I can am glad that you asked! when you are popular you tend to get surrounded by alot of ppl. then you never know who really likes you for you. they start coping you and saying everything that you say... their is no individualism. and also being popular gives you the moral obligation to do good and treat ppl with respect. but that is not the case ... most popular ppl are mean and snotty , and make fun of ppl to make the crowd laugh. and that is wrong. I think being popular is way over rated, it is just a lable!

Being popular is great. The problem is people expect you to be a certain way. They think your mean, or a sl*t or smart, or dumb. You can't just be yourself. I that were the case everyone would be popular, or everyone would be a cheerleader. And God knows we don't want that to happen.

Plenty, you are not friends with those people because they like you as a friend, but probably because they want to be popular and if they hang around with you they might be. There are lots of others. For a really good answer go to www.freewebs.com/questiongals26 i asked them a question and they gave me a really good answer

Everyone sucking up to you, watching your every move, watching what you eat, what you where, whether your wearing make-up that day. It's not always fun being popular, just like it's not always fun being unpopular. Have a great night!

Depends.....Really popular means hiring body guards, etc.
Best to be yourself, have fun and don't worry about others' ideas of you.... Just always watch your back...there's always that one person that can't control envy.
As far as negativity in being popular...you have to decide how much freedom you are willing to give up on. I mean....if you do anything, it makes the news....up to you.

Being popular is one thing, but if youre popular and youre a jerk, then the unpopular ones wont like you. That was the problem with the popular kids, they were all jerks.

Hi, Patzky,
There are many advantages to being popular.... You normally are well respected, and looked up to by some..
If your popular, then some of the time all of the lesser people insult you and call you a prep.... If you're popular then you'll most likely have a considerably good amount of friends..But not "true friends" ..
Being popular corrupts a lot of people, because they start focusing only on their popularity.... ;//
>>>
In other words : they hang out with you, only because you are popular..not for who you really are!;(

And that is probably, why most people who are popular, are not
that "happy", at all!!
>>>>>>>

Thanks, for the question!;)

My regards! ;D
