Ever notice how many kids ask for the answers to their homework here in Answers? The time it takes them to ask their questions & check the answers they could have looked the answer up on the net. Would you ever answer one & sincerely give them a totally wrong answer?

I've run across plenty of Questions that said (something like) "Help! I need this answer for homework".

I have ignored those Questions. Not because I didn't know the Answer (sometimes I do, sometimes I don't), but because I HAD TO DO MY OWN HOMEWORK when I was in school. At that time, Al Gore hadn't even invented the internet yet.

I could ask a handful of people for advice on a particular topic, but I couldn't pose my question to (essentially) the entire world. And if I needed some specific information, I would have to look for it in bizarre places like the library. I did fairly well in school, but if the internet had been available, I would have gotten straight A's all the time!

I think it would be a waste of time (other than amusement) to provide a completely wrong Answer; there would be enough "correct" Answers given that the asker would probably just go with the majority.

I wouldn't give a wrong answer because I don't want to see anyone fail, however, I would impress upon them the importance of doing their homework themfelves and that is the only way they will denefit from it. Asking for help is one thng. Askking for the answer is something else, and it's called cheating.

I think the kids on here are just wanting to play & not really trying to do homework.
I can't believe Yahoo even has that as a catagory here. All we had when I was in school were typewriters & calculators & mom & dad hollering about how they didn't have to learn that when they were in school. So not even parents were any help.
There should be a website for kids only with different levels for different grades, where parents have to register them to get help, but the help is limited.

I don't give the answer. i just explain how to go about finding the answer but I'm not sure that I haven't misunderstood the question and led one completely astray.

no, I wouldn't give them the wrong answer, I wouldn't answer them AT ALL! It scares me how young some of the people are, that are on here.

No, I usually just skip them altogether. Can't help it- I'm a mom. I don't believe in doing kids' homework for them.
