Why would I have an IP address used on a public network?

I run network magic wizard on my computer and it tells me it does not support my network.

Are you using a proxy?

IP address is elemental to the working of Internet. The only other two network types are IPX/SPX of NetWare and NetBIOS of Microsoft. You should use IP as network type always now these days.

you have a public address because you dont have a router between you and the modem
