I think just in the last 2-3 years. It became a major place for teens and pre-teens and college students. Now us older people are getting involved.

I'm not too sure but it's been popular for a while... not to worry it's popularity is dying down. The MySpace fad is slowly dying. Yay!

Not sure about other states but it seemed to take off big time in Pennsylvania when police searched the myspace account of the kid from Lititz that killed his girlfriends parents and then kidnapped his girlfriend even though she probably went willingly.
