Sorry for the repetition! Don't know how that sneaks in sometimes.
Note the differences in prices from towns near an Indian Reservation, (yes they are still noted on the map as "Indian" Reservations) and the prices paid in the surrounding areas! No federal taxes imposed! Note the web address given below by one of the respondents.

I can't understand why some of the highest gasoline prices in the U S of A are in states that have the most production and refining capabilities. It shouldn't be the high local taxation as that is contrary to the principle of not taxing a locally produced product, ie; The Carolinas have the lowest prices for tobacco products as the powers that be realize that taxing a locally produced good would be counter-productive for the local economy.

In UK it's called Petrol. Gas is the stuff that heats your home and you cook with... so be careful when you search the net.

It can also be called fuel in some countries.

It's about a pound a litre, which is about £4 a gallon roughly, which is about $7.50. (UK - see bbc link below a bit old though, price has risen.)

Appearantly according to Shell, Austrailia has the cheapest. (see link)

Ireland is having similar problems. (see third link)
