Do any other women still want this for a lifestyle?

I think society has given homemakers a bad name these days. Just try keeping a house clean, I mean really clean. Sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry, cooking, dishes, errands..... And if there's a child to take care of, oh my goodness! Nobody works harder than a wife & mother. But these days if a woman don't work she must be lazy.

There are lots of traditional men and woman around yet. And there is nothing wrong with this at all. If that is the lifestyle that you would choose and your mate is in agreement than be proud of your accomplishments of being a housewife, one of the world's most noble professions that could never be paid for with enough money to cover it. Good luck to you.

No. But there are a heck of a LOT of men out there that want to BE the housewife! How many couples do you know that have the husband home taking care (they say) of the kids, while their wives work, for way bigger bucks than they could ever bring in?

Of my immediate neighbours there are two.

I am a stay at home mom and have been since my 13 year old was two months old. We both decided it was the best thing for us. We pretty much live paycheck to paycheck but we own our house and bought it new and we live in a very nice neighborhood.

I shop at Target and Mervyns instead of Macys and Nordstroms but I always dress in fashion.

It annoys me when I hear people say they can't make it on one income when the husband makes much more than my husband. They just want the lifestyle. Well, everyone has their priorities I guess...

Yes there are men who wants this. Most of them can be found in a church. Most of them are of good morals and character. Most who want this type of relationship are mild mannered, sensible, rather frugal, and usually don't go for anything flashy. I guess you could say they are quite boring. They do exist though and they are generally the best types of husbands women could ask for. In today's world, most women have burned their bra so to speak in favor of women's liberation which I have no problem with, however, to some men, they feel that women are equal to men and that they should pull their own in the workplace and at home as well. Others have a tendency to respect a woman's life and career and work with them to make a home and share those duties so that a woman can pursue her career in public and be respected at home as well. I applaud these types of men as well. They are out there, all types and all kinds. The easiest thing to do is set your own goals for what you want out of life and then steer yourself in that direction. Good Luck!

With the economy the way it is, not every couple has that luxury. Besides on a personal note, the person i marry could be a billionaire and i still will work. I don't realy like the idea of having to spend the rest of my life asking someone for money in order to buy me what ever.

for the chick above my answer, you can have a brain and still be a housewife, if you had a brain you would know that.

If the man makes enough money to comfortably live, there's no need for the wife to work -- especially if they have kids to take care of.

I'd rather have my wife taking care of my kids than paying some stranger to take care of them.
