GAARA IS NOT NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know why he talks about his mother. His father sealed the demon inside of him against his mother's will. They needed a sacrifice for this and they used his mother. When they did this, his mother cursed the village hoping that Gaara would revenge her. As he grew up, the sand was able to protect him. Well, he believes that the sand has his mother's spirit in it. He talks to her a lot. He auchelly thinks that his mother is in the sand protecting him from harm. He is not nuts or anything else that everyone might say he is. He is perfectly normal. He just wants to speak to his mother.

My grandfather died and my family bought a star and named it after him. Almost all the time, I go outside, sit down and start talking to him as if he can hear me. It helps a lot and I know it from experence. You won't get answers, but you can speak to that someone that is very close to you, even if they aren't there.

As you can see, he's a complex character, don't be too quick to judge him.

"As a child, the one-tailed Shukaku was sealed within Gaara during birth on the order of his father. This was done with a possession jutsu by one of Sunagakure's elders, a woman named Chiyo. Because a sacrifice was needed, Gaara's mother, Karura, was used. Before she died, Karura cursed Sunagakure, hoping Gaara would avenge her death.

The reason Gaara's own father inflicted such a fate on him was due to the country's feudal lord slowly weakening the village, minimizing their ability to defend themselves. The feudal lord even began offering jobs to other hidden villages rather than his own. Seeing what was happening to his village, the Fourth Kazekage realized that their ninja would have to be of much higher quality than ordinary ninja to compete, and Gaara was to be their ultimate weapon.

Gaara was trained by his father, but raised mainly by his caring uncle Yashamaru. Being host to Shukaku gave Gaara almost instinctive control over sand. In addition, the sand itself guarded him, making Gaara a near-impossible person to touch."

her mother died because of him. The sand that surronds him is from the body of her mother. Gaara had to watch her mom die in from of her when he was born. Since people treat him like a monster although he does have one inside him like naruto he make up his mind that he will only love himself and his mom is part of him cuz of the sand, so he kills people thinking his mom will be happy cuz his mom is the sand.

wat episode becuz he barely does that...if anything doesnt but he has a past about that. he was lied to, told that his mother loved him when in fact everyone hated him. even his mother. and he finds out about it, in the most horrific way. that episode was pretty sad. but yea, those r his "mommy" issues.
