I wouldn't say love but I loved the songs he wrote when he was still in The Beatles

"While my guitar gently weeps" and "Something"

are 2 of the best songs ever

Sure - what's not to love. In addition to some great Beatles tracks ("Taxman," "Something," "Here Comes the Sun," "For You Blue") he was also the most active Beatle producing other acts on Apple Records - Billy Preston, Doris Troy, Jackie Lomax, Badfinger (George produced "Day After Day.")

He wrote "Photograph" for Ringo, produced "It Don't Come Easy" for Ringo.

He signed Gary "Dream Weaver" Wright to his own Dark Horse records (as a member of the band Splinter)

He produced the first all-star rock benefit concert (The Concert for Bangla Desh).

He wrote my favorite Beatles break-up songs ("Wah Wah," "Isn't It a Pity")

He played great guitar on Lennon's "Imagine" album (that's George on "How Do You Sleep" and "Oh My Love").

He practically invented a guitar sound the dominated rock music on the 70's - anytime you hear double lead slide guitar it goes right back to Harrison on "Abbey Road."

He was married to Patti Boyd who left him for Eric Clapton - and george stayed friends with Clapton (and she inspired Clapton to write "Layla," and "Wonderful Tonight").

He produced Monty Python's "The Life of Brian," as well as Terry Gilliams's movies "Time Bandits" and "Brazil."

He kickstarted the Traveling Wilburies and all the Jeff Lynne produced Wilbury related projects that followed (2 Tom Petty albums, Roy Orbison's comeback, Del Shannon, Ringo, and some McCartney tracks on "Flaming Pie" not to mention the Beatles "reunion" tracks).

When George was stabbed he was quoted as saying "Why doesn't stuff like this ever happen to the Rolling Stones?"

George is great!

He did some great solo work, especially on All Things Must Pass, and I liked his last single Any Road. I wish it had been no.1 instead of the re-release of My Sweet Lord. He also deserves respect for having a distinguished career in films, a good sense of humour and being a gentle man.

Indeed I do, mainly for his dedication to the Hare Krishna faith, most people in the 60's who got involved seemed to drop it when it was no longer fashionable however George stayed true to what he believed.

He was also, in my opinion an under rated songwriter especially in his time with the Beatles.

I think that his music was alright in the beginning, and got significantly better as time went on. I love While My guitar gently weeps, Within Without you, and of course, something. However, I'm turned off by the whole "did acid and considered it at one time the greatest thing EVER", and the whole fake Guru period. I'm afraid I'm more a McCartney person.
