I've felt this way on and off my whole life (or what seems like my whole life . . . I'm 39). I think everyone has insecurities (i.e., rut issues) at each stage of their life. It's something we all face, " . . . am I where i should be at this stage in my life . . . is this all there is . . . when I was 18 I always thought I would've been to Europe by now, and all I've seen is the Arch in St. Louis . . ."

Yes, we all feel the same way. Hang in there and believe that life happens while you are planning for the next big event.

Same here. Especially since i have been going to a Dallas Community College. See i keep trying to complete my degree (a BA in K-12 EDU, which requires a transfer with 61 credits), but with all the wrong information I have been getting over the last four years it has lead to me having 96 credit hours, a 3.785 GPA and no degrees that are useful.

Thanks alot Mountain View...I trusted you and now I cry almost once a week because I feel like I will never freaking finish.

I believe that a rut happens right before a major milestone in your life - like an "a-ha!" moment, or something developmental like a physical feat or growth of some sort. This is a good sign - that you recognize stagnancy, and that it's intolerable - or at least lackluster. It means you are ready for change, and more than likely now will be open to it. Congrats & have fun with it!

I have felt this way before.

You want to get your thoughts to something else.

Stuck, yes.
You are stuck in thought.
Try motion.
Think something new, grab a higher thought.

Limbo.
The limbo is fun, but ever since my back surgery, not too good an idea, especially not on rollerblades.
Watch out!!

Peace.

I feel like that. I thought my job, driving expedited freight all over the country, would alleviate the boredom, but it's still the same old thing, just different scenery. I spend too much time alone, I think, and I am bored by the lack of stimulation.

Yeah. I'm feeling that way now. Once my degree is finished, I'll be a happier bunny. As Dusty used to say, I just don't know what to do with myself...
