1) "What Happened"

RE: Charges against JM Karr in CO:

Charges were *not dropped*: they were never filed.

Forensically speaking, the *detention* of JM Karr was based on such complete b.s. that any competent DA should have been able to realize he should not have been seriously regarded as a suspect *long* before the decision was made to detain him.

Authorities constantly deny that he was not under arrest, even though he was *obviously* in custody by DHS and other officials before he left Taiwan.

2) "What Is Happening"

CA has assumed custody of JM Karr in relation to 5 outstanding misdemeanor warrants apparently all related to 1 incident in which he allegedly possessed child pornography, plus 1 warrant associated with the alleged failure of him to appear in court to answer those charges.

It is unlikely that JM Karr will be able to get a fair trial: the statements he allegedly made in connection with the murder of JonBenet Ramsey have been widely published in the media, thus prejudicing any potential jury.

Each of the misdemeanor counts of possing child porn in CA carries a sentence of up to 12 months confinement, and the failure to appear charge (if proved) carries a 6-month sentence.

However, misdemeanor sentences are "stackable" in CA to a maximum of 6 years, so if JM Karr is convicted on charges arising from all the outstanding matters in CA, he could be imprisoned there for up to 5.5 years.

3) "What Will Happen"

Unless JM Karr can conclusively *prove* that he is not the person for whom the warrants were issued, his conviction in CA is virtually assured, and because of the aforementioned published statements, he is virtually assured of 5.5 years of confinement after he is sentenced: it is all but inconceivable that he will get credit for time already served.

Meanwhile, his image has been broadcast worldwide, and great publicity given to the allegations against him. Every parent in those jurisdictions having a child that plausibly can be linked to JM Karr will grill all his or her children to determine whether further allegation can be made against JM Karr respecting graver charges.

Moreover, even if no allegations arise between now and his eventual release from detention pursuant to conviction on the aforementioned misdemeanors, JM Karr will be tracked for the remainder of his natural life: he will never again be a free man.

That's the rub.
Even though he's a sick ba$tard, he wasn't in trouble in Thailand.
An investigator alerted the Thai Government that he was suspected in the crime.
He was thrown out as an un-desireable.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's over yet.
THe dim-witted DA in Boulder will probably regret the mistake.
Smart money says he sue's & gets a large pay-out.
Time will tell.
/I am in NO FASHION supporting this karr turd.
If it were up to me, I'd have him nailed up by his scrotum.

His DNA samples did not match the ones on JonBenet. The DA dropped the charges. He was sent back to California to face child porn charges. May get 3 yrs in jail.

He is hidding something I think. The Boulder police had phone conversations of him telling someone (I forget) that he put tape over her mouth. And when he realized she wasn't breathing he held her, took the tape off and kissed her lips and whispered "I'm sorry. I love you." SICKO! I hope he never get back out into society.

They had to let him go on the charges because the DNA was not a match. but they are charging him with child pornography and some other charges i can't remember. They should ship his butt back to Thailand and let him face his charges there.
