hi!
i had the same problem as you...i was getting tired of singing all the same nursery songs to her. so, i started making up my own songs and singing them to her. i use her name alot in them and make them funny sounding. she really seems to like it when i make up a song for her.
hope this helps you!

When my husband took over bedtime for our then-one year old, I'd hear him singing random pop songs to her. It cracked me up. I suggest buying a couple kids CDs because you will want the variety. Or get them from the library. Our current favorite (playing right now in the 2 year old's room as she is going to bed) is Bed Time Classics by Kids Direct. There are 16 songs and they repeat (so 32 all in one play).
Other ideas (Google the title for lyrics):
Itsy-Bitsy Spider
The Ants are Marching One by One
Hokey Pokey
Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes
Jesus Loves Me
The Noble Duke of York
Polly-Wolly Doodle
Row, Row, Row Your Boat
B-I-N-G-O
Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone
Mary Had a Little Lamb
Ba, Ba Black Sheep
Any Beach Boy song of your choosing
Jesus Loves the Little Children
Christmas Carols (any time of the year)
Pop Goes the Weasel
Rock a By Baby
Little Boy Blue
Frair a Jacque (Are You Sleeping?)
Old McDonald Had a Farm
Wheels on the Bus
OK, that's enough to get you started!

my kids loved the itsy bitsy spider complete with hand motions. They also loved the ahhh boo game (not a song but so much fun) you act like you're going to sneeze (face goes up toward ceiling, hands cover face) then you come down open your hands and say boo! My kids just thought that was the funniest. I always used the abc's as a lullaby and my 18 month old sings half of it with me now lol. They also like you are my sunshine and I'm a little tea pot. I think they songs they liked best though were the ones that I was singing from the radio with my broom and my little hip shake that they thought hysterical. Now that they're older I restrain myself a bit because once they caught me singing and dancing and that was enough for me lol. I'm sure that whatever you choose she will love it. Good Luck.

My 3 year old has a Backyardigans cd. Needless to say I walk around singing this most of the day. My 5 month old loves it. When we ride most of the time the cd is in the player. She knows it well. When she had her days and nights mixed up, I just made stuff up as I went. She didn't care. You can sing anything as long as you make eye contact and have a voice that soothes. Most mothers do!

Wynken, Blynken and Nod. Weeping Willows, Cat Tails. Or my very favorite.DEAD BABIES...LOL.. I will explain. After my daughter got her one year MMR she contracted the measles from the inoculation. One in about every 10,000 children contract either the measles or mumps from the shot...lucky me huh? Anyway she whined, for four days straight and I couldn't get her to sleep for more than 10 minutes every 8-10 hours...I was alone, her father was in Sicily (Air Force) and I had no family around...I wore a path in the hall carpet walking up and down and the rockers on the rocking chair in the bedroom wore holes in the carpet as well. By the third day my sanity was lost and I began playing my Alice Cooper records, during the 2nd playing of "Dead Babies" I noticed she wasn't whining, she wasn't crying, she was SNORING! I let the record play all the way through and she continued to sleep! She slept all night and didn't wake up until the afternoon of the 4th day! I got some rest, got back to my semi sane self and have Alice Cooper to thank for it.

You can sing any songs that you want as long as they are soothing songs... I sing anything from Yesterday by the beatles or the little mermaid, I know it is corney, but that is part of motherhood. The babys really just like to hear you sing, so you could sing your conversations and they wouldnt care, they just love the sound of your voice.

Ever hear that "Peaches" song by the Presidents(of the united states of america....)... early 90's band? I sing that to my six month old daughter all the time and she loves it!
Movin' to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches(x4)
Peaches come from a can they were put there by a man
In a factory downtown
If I had my little way I'd eat peaches every day
Sun soakin' bulges in the shade
Movin' to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches(x4)
I took a little nap where the roots all twist
Squished a rotten peach in my fist
And dreamed about you, woman
I poked my finger down inside makin' a little room for an ant to hide
Nature's candy in my hand or can or a pie
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free(x2)
Look out!
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free(x2)
Look out!
-------
Ironically enough, this song just popped into my head after years of being forgotten when I was feeding her peaches for the first time! lol

How would you know she is getting sick of the songs? Does she cry when you sing? lol but seriously I think its the act of singing more so than the words that the baby likes... Ive sung Social Distortion and Dropkick Murphys songs to my daughter...lol and she loves it

How about the song, "You are my sunshine"? I used to sing this to my son. He was a preemie (11 weeks early) and he was in the hospital for 10 weeks and I sang this to him when he was fussy at home and as soon as I started he would stop crying. You can also sing the ABC song. My sister did this for my niece and she knew her ABCs when she was 2

Sing whatever you like - the babe is responding to the affection, not the lyrics, lol. That said, a variety of tunes, to suit the mood, is nice for you both. "Pop! Goes the weasel" would be appropriate at playtime, while "Somewhere over the rainbow" makes a nice lullaby, I think.
