"Groom Lake Road leads to the restricted Groom Lake facility — a secret high-security Military Base. The Base is located within the geographical sector of the
Nevada Test Site once known
as Area 51 — about a 2-hour
drive from downtown Las Vegas."

"Post Marker LN 34.6
Look for an unmarked Dirt Road veering off to the right of
Hwy. 375 at Post Marker LN 34.6. You can drive down this road for approximately 12 miles before encountering the "Restricted Area/No Trespassing" signs."

"Whatever you do, DO NOT drive past these signs or you will be arrested...or worse! Punishment can be up to one year in prison
and a $5000 fine. You won't see any fences or gates, so be warned. "

There are linkns listed below that have more details and maps!

umm...well I just did a search on google maps under area 51 and the mnap moves to an airfield, just off the Las Vegas city. So I'm under the impression that since Google Maps actually has this titled Area 51 more than likely it is Area 51.

Oh and nothing comes up under Groom Lake, Nevada...or any other possible spelling of it. Sorry. I just had to point that out.

Near Groom Lake Nevada, Don't waste your time going there. The government has closed the base and moved all the "stuff" to other more well known bases throughout the USA. Not to long ago, on the History Channel, a UFO researcher went to area 51 and drove right up to the edge of the base fence. All he saw was a closed and abandoned base. Rumor has it the radioactive and/or toxic waste buried there has made the area to dangerous for humans to inhabit. The government has also learned that a "secret" base attracts more attention than a non-secret base. Bad mistake from the beginning.

I find it, very hard to believe, that you cannot find information regarding this? You, indeed, may not be able to find it on 'google-maps'...but, there are may other ways to find it's location. *easy-way* Just retreive any old tape or special on UFO's *inevitably, there is a reference to Area 51 (near Groom Lake, Neveda)...I've seen some that have even shown maps(if necessary, freeze frame it...) But, if you do go, and you're not sure if you're in the right place, just keep driving, until the 'black jeeps' pull you over, and force you out of your car! (*then, you'll know, just don't get caught the second time!)

It was located in the Great Basin of Nevada (aka huge desert) but the location of the base was compromised so it was moved to Arizona another huge barren desert. Exact location: unknown.
